Warmest greetings to all our members! No, I’m not advertising the Sandra Bullock/Hugh Grant rom-com movie, but something far more important and interesting. The Calgary Women’s Literary Club begins its Spring 2017 session on Tuesday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m., and I hope to see most of you then.
We have had to change the order of our program slightly to accommodate our guest speaker, U. of C. writer-in-residence Shane Book due to a conflict in his schedule. Instead, our own Mary Carwardine will kick off the Spring session with her presentation on Jeanette Walls. Thank you, Mary, for stepping into the breach.
Our meeting will take place as usual in the lower level of Memorial Park Library. I urge you to arrive a little early (around 1:30 p.m.) to enjoy refreshments and have an opportunity to catch up with your fellow members following our winter break.
I am excited to continue with our theme of “favourite authors,” which is bringing such an interesting variety of books and writers to our attention. Now it just remains for us to wish for the Chinook wind to keep blowing until the end of April.
