2022 – New Writers of the 21st Century

Our 2022 program is the gateway to the literature of the New Millenium. In the Spring 2022 session, we hosted guest speaker Teresa Wong and had presentation on the works of: Heather O’Neill, Michael Crummey, Amor Towles, Esi Edugyan, J.K. Rowling, Tash Aw and Steven Price.

Here’s the presentations our members have planned for the Fall of 2022.

October 4 – Ottessa Moshfegh (My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Elaine)

October 11 – Deborah Levy (The Man Who Saw Everything; Swimming Home)

October 18 – Guest Speaker: Leah Horlick, Canadian Writer-in-Residence, Calgary Distinguished Writers Program, University of Calgary

October 25 – Timothy Caulfield (The Cure for Everything; Relax Dammit! A Users Guide to the Age of Anxiety)

November 1 – Sally Rooney (Normal People; Beautiful World Where are You?)

November 8 – Emily St. John Mandel (The Sea of Tranquility; Station Eleven)

November 15 – Thomas King (the Dreadfulwater Mysteries, The Inconvenient Indian)

November 22 – Malcolm Gladwell (The Tipping Point, The Bomber Mafia)

In the spring of 2023, our theme will continue with presentations on authors Gary Shteyngert, Mary Lawson, Erna Donoghue, Joseph Bodyen and Andrey Kurkov and more.
