I’m just starting “The Silence of the Sea” by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. I just encountered her at a WordFest 2015 event, along with 3 other “Scandinavian” mystery writers whose books will be the NEXT 3 on my Reading List!
This week I am sneezing through the dusty works, in three volumes of Lord Frederic Hamilton who was a British diplomat in the last years of the nineteenth century. Published in 1921 by The Charles H. Doran Company, New York , the books in order are titled, “The Vanished Pomps of Yesterday”, “The Days Before Yesterday” and ” Here,There and Everywhere”. The Vanished Pomps certainly lives up to the title. A glimpse back in time and place, Russia, Italy, Brazil, Paraguay, West Indies….an adventurous read.
